Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait at Bayan Palace in Kuwait City.
The President offered his condolences on the passing of his Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the late Emir of Kuwait. President Barzani also congratulated His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah, on his succession as the Emir of Kuwait and wished His Highness and the people of Kuwait continued development and prosperity.
The two sides also discussed the bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and the State of Kuwait and emphasized on strengthening ties in all areas.
The President expressed appreciation for Kuwait’s humanitarian support and assistance to the Kurdistan Region, particularly with the assistance to the refugees from Syria and the displaced people from other areas of Iraq.
