Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today issued the following statement on the holy month of Ramadan:
Tonight, I join millions of Muslims in Kurdistan, Iraq, and around the world in marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. May God hear our prayers during these times of crisis, and this year, may Ramadan bring more peace and prosperity to the people of Kurdistan.
As everyone prepares to observe this holy event and celebrate with loved ones, we ask the people of Kurdistan to follow official health guidelines and implement self-protection measurements to ensure a safe and happy Ramadan, and protect each other from the coronavirus. My gratitude goes to our religious scholars and leaders who are helping raise awareness of the risks of the pandemic and continue playing an important role in protecting our community.
May God protect us and may Kurdistan have a blessed and peaceful Ramadan.
