In Abu Dhabi, as part of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Friday met with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, on December 5.
They discussed the situation in Iraq following the parliamentary elections, as well as the regional developments.
Prime Minister Barzani expressed his gratitude for the UAE’s continued support and assistance, and reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s desire to further advance bilateral relations. He valued the UAE’s appointment of a special envoy dedicated to economic cooperation with the Kurdistan Region.
They agreed on the importance of strengthening ties between the Kurdistan Region and the United Arab Emirates across all sectors.

The Prime Minister also met in Abu Dhabi with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates. They reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE. They also discussed the political situation in Iraq and developments in the wider region.
His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the United Arab Emirates, also received Prime Minister Barzani. In the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of further strengthening the longstanding friendship, cooperation, and coordination between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the UAE across various sectors. They also exchanged views on recent developments and the political situation in Iraq and the wider region.
