Prime Minister Barzani Inaugurates Toyota Service Center in Duhok

On September 20, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani inaugurated the advanced Toyota service and inspection center in the city of Duhok, in the presence of Akira Endo, Japan’s Ambassador to Iraq.

In remarks delivered at the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister congratulated Sardar Group for implementing the project and expressed his satisfaction with the trust Japan has placed in the Kurdistan Region. He noted that Duhok has been chosen as the hub where all Japanese cars imported into Iraq will be inspected before being distributed to other cities. The Prime Minister reaffirmed his government’s support for investors and businesspeople, stressing that such projects will undoubtedly contribute to the economic development of the Kurdistan Region and help local people acquire new skills.

He further said he was pleased to see that some of the staff working at the center are locals who are receiving professional training. He explained that the center not only facilitates the import and distribution of vehicles but also introduces Japanese-standard quality control and produces some spare parts locally. All of this, he added, creates jobs and enhances expertise in the country, enabling people to develop better skills. The Prime Minister expressed hope that more such professional projects will be established and that the company can carry out even greater initiatives in the future.
